Dance Opportunity
Cultural Dance Incentive – This program was designed for participants in the Alitaptap Philippine Folkloric Group/FCI who are 18 years of age or younger. This program is separate from the Academic and Athletic Scholarships which an individual can apply for simultaneously.
The purpose is to provide an incentive for young dancers to learn, perfect, and strive for excellence in learning and performing Philippine folkloric dances.
To avail of this opportunity:
| 1. |
An individual contact the Alitaptap Philippine Folkloric Group and be placed on their list of participants; |
| 2. |
A participant must be 18 years of age or younger. Parents or legal guardian(s) must be members of the Filipino Community, Inc.; |
| 3. |
Each calendar year, a participant will automatically receive a $50 savings bond; |
| 4. |
Each participant chosen to perform at a scheduled show entitles the participant to receive an additional $25 savings bond per dance. This will give the participant an incentive to not only learn as many dances as they possibly can, but to “perfect” their performance to be “chosen” by the Alitaptap instructors to perform the dance during a show. The greater the effort they invest in learning, the greater awards they can obtain. The participant will need to work hard enough to be recognized and earn the respect of the Alitaptap instructors to be selected for a show. |
